I am a part-time photographer with a home base in the Netherlands. My story started on one of the former Dutch Caribbean islands.
It all started with a Handycam. Unfortunately I did not experience the age of film camera, but till this day I still hear good things about it. Maybe in the future I’ll try one of these cameras. From this story I bet you correctly concluded that I am a “90’s ish” kid.
The first camera a photographer owns, gives a hint of what generation he is from, but that aside, the Handycam theme also functions in this story as segue to the topic of “The love of resolution”.
The love of resolution
Despite digital cameras existing for a while now, it was only recently (mid-decade 2010) that it became possible to produce decent large size images at an average consumer’s price.
So like many others at the time I bought my first entry level DSLR. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. Long story made short: Lesson learned!
Lesson learned
So the first next step I made was, I decided not to allow the gear determine the quality of the results. This triggered me to be creative to compensate for the shortcomings of the gear. Making the most with what is available to you is in my opinion the best motivation for any new path you are trying to take.
The motivation
While I was making the most of what was available to me I captured some truly stunning images. Finally the pictures met my high expectation. But now I was looking forward to the next step. The best of my work was piling up in hard drives without seeing the light of day.
This led me to share my best images with you. Beside me sharing my work on social media for a one time “like”, I invested heavily in a way for you to own the image that had the most effect on you. This way you can enjoy the image and “like” every day to your heart’s content wherever you feel the most comfortable.
Now it is possible to use my images to create an ambiance in your office or living space you cherish the most.
It is to me truly an honor that you chose one of my pictures to be part of your work or living space!
Thank you!
