Klein Curacao beach panorama
After a week of heavy storm finally came to temporary end, one day of clear moonless night was expected according to local forecast. Unfortunately there was a light precipitation that you normally would not notice, but this night was an exception to the rule. Mission of the night was to create an astro time-lapse movie. The camera was set up, lens was in focus waiting for the milky way to rise. Unfortunately when I went back to the camera to start the time-lapse the lens and body was completely drenched. The result was a smeared time-lapse. Silver lining is when I cleaned the lens the water droplets left some cool glow or flare effect on the stars.
The location:
This was photographed in Vlieland (Netherlands). It is one of the island that is further away from the heavy light polluted main land without a direct light pollution in front. Even then you can still see the light pollution glow in the background. The dunes are the perfect place to do astrophotography in the Netherlands as you can hear the sound of the ocean and if you’re lucky see some sea sparkle.
